Repurposed Antique Victorian Style Frame (wood & gesso) unified with Pine Tree Root reclaimed from a seldom exposed lakebed in the Deschutes National Forest of Oregon.

This stately frame waited many seasons for its bold counterpart. I discovered the frame years ago, at an antique store in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Recent drought, set free this prized root from a lakebed. Both frame and root have undergone purposed transformation. The frame from bright gold to frosted grey, and the root tinted to correspond. Sharing elements — as one, embracing winter’s ambience.

In Winter, I contemplate the power of artlessly being still, making ready for evolution.
